Mace at a partner café — Sandgate Coffee Roasters

Wholesale, the Australian way.

Most cafés we talk to already have a coffee provider — someone who delivered well for the first year, then went quiet. We're built for what happens after year one.

"In Australia, the roaster is your partner — not a vendor you chase. We brought that home."

— Mace, head roaster
Mace and Kally Rapsey, owners of Sandgate Coffee Roasters

Our story

Mace and Kally sold the comfortable life and learned coffee from the inside.

They had good careers — finance, real estate — and three kids under three. Then the opportunity came, and they didn't look back. They moved to Australia, embedded inside a respected roaster, and did every part of the business from green-buying to the café floor.

By the time they brought it home to Newport Beach, they understood coffee — and the whole world behind it. Mace runs the roaster. Kally runs the business.

Consistent coffee. Dependable service. Real relationships. And always showing up.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sandgate coffee Certified Organic?

Yes. Sandgate is a Certified Organic roaster. We source from trusted producers and the certification is held at the roastery in Newport Beach, California, so it applies from green-buying through to the bag that arrives at your door.

How fresh is the coffee, and how fast does it ship?

We roast in small batches on a Loring in Newport Beach. Every bag is roasted fresh and shipped within days of roasting, so it reaches you close to peak.

How does the subscription work?

Pick a cadence — every week, two weeks, three, or four. Each delivery is roasted fresh and shipped within days. You can pause, skip, or cancel anytime, and there are no contracts.

Do you offer wholesale for cafés, restaurants, and offices?

Yes. We supply cafés, restaurants, hotels, private clubs, and offices across Orange County. We trained in Australia, where the roaster is a genuine partner to the café, and we run wholesale here the same way: consistent product, consistent schedule, and a consistent point of contact. Reach us through the wholesale page.

Where can I buy Sandgate coffee in person?

You can find Sandgate at Cappy's Cafe, Plums Cafe, Modo Mio, Lido House, The Tennis & Pickleball Club at Newport Beach, Birdies Bodega, Irvine Ranch Market, and Eastside Mini-Mart — across Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. See all locations with addresses and directions.

Do you offer private-label or white-label coffee?

Yes. We offer a complete private-label service, with Certified Organic options, where we handle sourcing, roasting, packaging, and compliance end to end out of our Newport Beach roastery. You bring the brand; we bring the roastery.
